Why is Art important?
Art makes us feel part of something, allows us to share our experiences and to know multiple emotions.
Thanks to Art, men and women throughout the centuries have found a means to express themselves, to transmit their ideas, their experiences through the language of signs, colors, shapes, often more immediate than words.
Art is primarily THOUGHT. Any creation of an artist must contain some thought. Art helps people feel good, it helps us to know and explore our creative side, developing our potential by facilitating expression and communication.
But are we all truly creative?
There are some distinctive traits to recognize creative people:
1-Daydreaming
2-Seeking moments of solitude
3-Observing people
4-Getting out of their mind
5-Asking big questions
6-Following their inclinations
7-Losing track of time
These and other traits distinguish creative individuals from those who probably are but perhaps slightly less so than others because, in reality, it would seem prejudiced to think that creativity is either something you have or you don't. It is more of a mental attitude combined with a lot of training and a strong internal motivation.
I have always considered myself not very creative, but sometimes my sister criticizes me claiming it's not really like that and that if someone thinks this way, that they lack imagination, it won't show. The important thing is to always seek stimuli through readings, videos, observing, putting together things that have nothing to do with each other, trying to improve our lives, doing things that make us happy, positive towards the future.
There is no magic formula. Art is within each of us, it can reveal itself (through the practices we have discussed) or remain hidden in a corner of our selves because we don't want to or don't have enough courage to "believe in it".
Now it's up to you to try to have the right attitude by training in the right way.
